THE (SHORT) ZINA DRESS-SHIRT, GINGHAM & STRIPE – Sample

 DESCRIPTION:

• Our very first iteration of the iconic Zina Shirt-Dress, but above the knee and with a different fabric texture.  This version has the multi-colored gingham check over collar, chest and sleeves.  

• Slightly oversized A-line fit with side pickets, a fringed belt and side splits at hem.  There are two 'see-through' stripes at hem made by the 'Calado' technique.

• Wear as a dress, as a duster over jeans or as a throw-on for the beach.

MATERIALS & CRAFTSMANSHIP:

• 90% organic cotton, naturally dyed with Indigo, Campeche Wood, Pericon and Brazil Wood and 10% Oeko-Tex cotton with regular dye.

• The weave is highly textured, but open and airy as well as extremely soft to the touch.

• Handwoven on the pedal loom by Marcolino Sánchez of Mayarte, Zinacantán.
  

• Cut and sewn by Colectivo de Innovación, San Cristóbal.

• 100% natural undyed corozo buttons.

SIZEs:  M/L 

• Regular fit for US 10–12 (UK 14-16).  Oversized fit for US 4-6 (UK 8-10).
  

CONDITION GRADE: A/B

CONDITION DESCRIPTON:  This sample's fabric is in excellent condition with only a very very slight fade on the natural dye stripes.   The sewing of this piece is also in great condition.  The only reason for this piece not going into production is that the fabric was too difficult to sew and manage in production, due to the openness of the weave and we preferred not to combine natural dyes and regular dyes.
