The Patricia Dress - Merida Stripe

DESCRIPTION

• Our 'pièce de resistance', a maxi-length dress with a corset-back, flattering square neckline and bias-cut A-line skirt. 

• A concealed side zip allows for easy putting on and taking off (after adjusting corset). 

• Seams at waist and centre-front and back are hand-joined by embroiderers from San Andrés Larrainzar.  Embroidery also features on the edges of the straps and neckline. 

• Made in our lightweight hand-loomed cotton stripes, available in 2 versions– the Mérida stripe and Ticking Stripe.

Please note:  Photos of L-XL model for fit reference only.  The dress does not feature embroidery, but in production it will have!

Technique & Artisans

Pedal Loom.   Pascuala, Ángelina, Juanita (apprentice weavers) and Don Marco Chiguil (Master Weaver) of Kinal Antsetik A.C. 

Composition

  50% Mexican Organic Cotton (supplied by Julio Dominguez) and 50% Cotton (Oeko Tex certified, supplied by Omega)

Embroidery

Zig-Zag joinery and edge embroidery techniques by Ceci Gómez and fellow artisans, San Andrés Larrainzar, methods are specific to their region.
